Description
Standard and Modified Vicat Apparatus determine consistency, time of set, and false set of hydraulic cement, mortar, and grout as indicated in ASTM and AASHTO test standards. The instrument consists of a metal frame, graduated scale with index, sliding probe, consistency piston, glass base plate. The test procedure consists of a needle / probe that freely falls into a concrete sample at regular intervals and in fixed positions, the depth of penetration being measured.
