Description
Concrete Penetrometers allow rapid in-place estimates of the concrete initial set. After the initial set, concrete can no longer be effectively consolidated and is nearly ready for final finishing operations. These convenient field devices yield approximate results of standard ASTM or AASHTO test methods.
The Concrete Mortar Penetrometer is used for field and laboratory evaluations of the initial set (or rate of hardening) of the mortar fraction of fresh concrete by measuring the penetration resistance at constant rate and time intervals.
