Description
Retort clamps are metallic items, with 2 metallic jaws, that can be adjusted via a screw. The jaws are coated with cork or plastic, and can have 2, 3 or 4 prongs. The jaws are connected to a metallic rod, which can be connected to a boss head, although some models have a built-in boss head or screw clamp. It is s a piece of scientific equipment intended to support other pieces of equipment and glassware — for instance, burettes, test tubes and flasks.
